Oxford known as the “City of Dreaming Spires”-  A culturally diverse and historic city, famous worldwide for its prestigious university that was established back in the 12th century is the oldest in the English-speaking world. Florence Park can be found between Iffley and Cowley south east of the city. A stunning green flag park with its beautiful flower beds opened in 1934 after the land was presented to the City by Councillor F.E. Moss in memory of his sister Florence. – this popular park will be where we host our Prosecco in the Park!

Getting There

LOCATION

WALKING

Prosecco in the Park is located in Florence Park, nestled between Iffley Road and Cowley Road, a short walk from Templars Square. The park is bordered by Cornwallis Road, Rymers Lane and Campbell Road with easy access from all three roads.

BUSES

There are number of bus operators that run services around oxford: Each has real-time information, social media announcements and a phone app. The 103/104 Heyfordian service stops on Rymers Lane. Alternatively numerous buses stop on the Cowley Road and Iffley Road, which is a short walk away.

TRAINS

The closest train station would be Oxford city centre, if you are travelling to us by train we would suggest you check out the bus operators above. Oxford train station is a 30 minute bus ride to the park for more details head here.

CAR PARKING

There are nearby car parks available in and around Cowley – the closest being Castle Car Park  which is under a 10 min walk. Alternatively on street parking is available around the park but please note that these are residential roads and parking will be limited. There is no car parking available on the event site.

Event Update: Prosecco in the Park, Abingdon – Postponed until Friday 26th July to Sunday 28th July (next weekend!) With all national weather forecasts predicting lightning and rain-storms throughout Friday & Saturday of this week, for safety reasons we have been forced to postpone the event due to be staged at Rye Farm Meadow, Abingdon for seven days and will now be staged on 26th, 27th & 28th July. “Naturally any postponement isn’t ideal and whilst we realise that weather forecasts can be unpredictable, the predicted lightning storms are enough for us to have to make this very difficult decision to postpone the event.  Safety of our growing audience is always our first priority” explains Event Organiser and local Abingdon resident, Matt Bates. “Our event last year was such a success and with a much larger screen, live content and additional bars, food offerings and activities for young families, we really want to make sure that we stage an event that Abingdon are proud of – and we can only hope that next weekend is as hot and sunny as being predicted!
